Mrs. Eila Ilona Vaananen, age 89 years, passed away peacefully in Bethammi Nursing Home on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
Born in Karttula, Finland on October 21, 1927 she later immigrated to Thunder Bay on October 6, 1973.
Eila married Matti Vaananen in the early 1970’s. In her earlier days, Eila enjoyed sewing and knitting prior to arthritis setting in. Her family and camp at Kashabowie were most important to her.
Survived by her husband Matti; step-son Eric and relatives and friends in Finland. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Much thanks to Debbie Fedor for helping Eila.
