It is with deep sadness and sorrow, that the family of Eila Elizabeth Kosowan nee Kivi of Kakabeka Falls announce her passing Thursday August 19, 2021 in hospital with loving family by her side.

Eila was born in Fort William and lived in Silver Mountain, Beardmore and Kakabeka/Murillo Thunder Bay. Eila met the love of her life and best friend Jarvis in 1973 in Selkirk, Manitoba. Jarvis and Eila were married on December 31st 1977 and it would have been 44 years of marriage come this New Years Eve - Kindly raise a glass for them that night. ♡♡

In her younger years she studied hair dressing where she met her lifelong friend and previous boss, Lona, where they worked together for some time at Lona's Pink Panther, and then later worked at the Westfort Hotel as the Bar Manager and Union Steward where she met many lifelong friends. Eila’s life was full. She loved her 3 daughters, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and was proud of them all. They filled her life with admiration and love.

Eila is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Jarvis, daughters Shelley (Norman), Joy (Kevin) and Melody (Gary). Grandchildren Melissa, Natalie (Josh), Andrea (Marc), Adam, Mariah (Chase), Shaniah, Tobias (Gabby), Braunson, Craig (Olena) and Adelle (Bryce). Great grandchildren Isaiah, Jeremiah, Noah, Sophia, Conrad, Audrey and Emmerson. Eilas siblings Evelyn, Ernie (Nancy) and Edwin and sister-in-law Iris, Eila’s in-laws Lawrence (Barbara), Helen, Elsie, Diane, and Mike. Eila also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Eila is predeceased by parents Ernest and Laimi Kivi, brothers Esko and Elmer also Elmer’s daughter, niece Jackie sister Elsie, grandson Douglas, sisters in law Toini and Susie and brothers in law Tony Campbell and George Wassiljew.

As per Eila’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eila’s memory can be made to Grace Place of Thunder Bay or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
