It is with profound sadness that the family of Eino Johannes Uusitalo announce his sudden and unexpected passing on Saturday, February 17, 2018 doing what he loved the most, fishing with his family.

He was born on November 18, 1946 in Port Arthur, Ontario.

Eino is survived by Lillian (Monto), his wife of 51 years; daughters Lori (John) McBain, Suzanne (Chris) Fiorito; son Eric (Valerie) Uusitalo; his cherished grandchildren Matthew, Rebecca, Jillian, Kelsey, Madison, Monica, Alyssa and Evan. Eino is also survived by nephews Donnie (Linda) and Bobby (Judy) Tienharra, who were more like brothers to him; as well as many other nieces and nephews and other extended family.

He was a life long resident of Silver Mountain. His favourite moments were times spent with his family outdoors whether he was fishing, hunting, camping or just sitting on the deck soaking up the sun. He loved cooking up a pile of Finn pancakes or frying up the catch of the day for everyone at the lake. Eino was quite the romantic and was thrilled when Lillian accepted his proposal to renew their vows for their 50th wedding anniversary. He was a hard working man, finally retiring at the age of 70, and was enjoying every moment of his retirement.

A celebration of Eino’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Pastor Chris Fiorito. Visitation will begin one hour prior, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
