Elaine Forbes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elaine Joan Forbes (Ahtila) on Thursday, January 11, 2018. 

Elaine was a devoted mother and grandmother and everything she did was to support her family. Her strength, bravery, compassion and care were felt and admired by her many, many friends and family. She was incredibly loved by those who knew her. Elaine got so much joy from watching her beloved Maple Leafs and her great taste in music, but most of all making treasured memories with her 3 daughters and her grandchildren. Elaine will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. 

Elaine is survived by her 3 daughters Amanda Reibel (Wald), Meagan Forbes and Farren Forbes; her beloved grandchildren Dylan, Faith, Andy and Collin; her brother Richie (Shawn) whom she was so proud of. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as her son by heart Zachary German and her best friend Curly (her cat). She was predeceased by her cherished parents, Waino and Rose. 

Funeral Services for Elaine will take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. Nancy Ringham. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior.

In memory of Elaine, donations may be made to Toronto Sick Kids in support of her grandson Dylan.
