Mrs. Elda Campaner (nee Panontin), age 92 years, passed away peacefully in Hogarth Riverview Manor on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Elda was born in Meduna Di Livenza, Province of Treviso, Italy on April 4, 1925. It was here that she developed a great talent as a seamstress. She married Leopoldo Campaner in 1947 and immigrated to Canada in October of 1952. Elda worked for many years as a Seamstress for Supreme Cleaners and Dresswell, until retirement. She loved her camp at Shebandewan Lake, and she had a passion for gardening. Elda was a devoted Catholic and rarely missed the weekly Mass, even throughout her illness. She was also a member of the Ladies Venet Society. Elda was especially proud of her family and enjoyed the times shared together.

Elda is survived by her son Flavio Campaner (Sharon Connors); grandchildren Amanda Campaner (David), Michael Campaner and Kathleen Campaner; great-grandchildren Addison and Abigail; brother Peter (Anna) Panontin and sister-in-law Silvana Panontin. Eight nieces and nephews as well as other family members also survive.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leopoldo; her parents Giovanni and Irene Panontin; sisters Katherine Panontin and Luciana Pasianotto as well as a brother Pio Panontin.

Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Elda Campaner will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 with family and friends gathering in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 12:10 PM, celebrated by Father James Panikulam. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Elda to St. Joseph's Care Group or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
