Ellen Shelling

Mrs.Ellen Shelling age 93 years of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully on December 20 th 2017 at TBRHSC. Born and raised in Port Arthur to Catherine and Gordon McGregor.

Ellen worked at Canada Car in her early years where she met her husband. In the 60’s she worked at Woolworth’s lunch counter as the manager until she took an early retirement in 1979 to travel and enjoy life with her husband.

Her main interest in life was always being with family and friends, the door was always open. She especially looked forward to her visits and outings with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

Survived by daughter Janice (Wally) granddaughter Kimberley, great granddaughter Amanda, great grand son Rodney. Sisters Berta Yaremko Thunder Bay, Chris Mason, Ruth Huskies BC and Dorothy Brown of Comox, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, husband John, daughter Brenda, a son at birth, grandson Christopher, sister Margaret Labelle and Pat Slattery.

To honour Ellen’s wish cremation has taken place and no funeral service will take place, interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to heart and stoke would be appreciated.
