It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Mrs. Elsie Mary Frisky at the age of 87 years. Elsie passed away peacefully in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Sunday, December 3, 2017 with her loving family at her side.

Elsie was born in Jordan River, Saskatchewan on October 7, 1930, the daughter of George and Eva England. She grew up in Saskatchewan where she met Henry Frisky and the two were married in 1950. In 1953 they moved to Longlac and later Geraldton, where they raised 6 children. Once the children were in school Elsie worked as a seamstress and later as a sales clerk for the Hudson’s Bay Company. Elsie was a generous woman who possessed many talents with many family, friends and charitable organizations benefiting from her skills in sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking. After retiring in 1986 Henry and Elsie moved to Thunder Bay. They enjoyed many years wintering in Texas and playing cards wherever they could. Elsie was also an avid Blue Jays and curling fan. She loved music of all kinds and enjoyed the entertainment at Chartwell Hilldale. A woman of faith she was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran, Zion Lutheran Church and later Hilldale Lutheran Church. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she was happiest during her time with family and friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Margaret (Scott) Walterhouse of Newmarket, ON, and Faye (Bruce) Cooke, sons Edward (Joanne) Frisky, Gary Frisky, David Frisky all of Thunder Bay and James (Sonja) Frisky of Calgary, AB, 9 grandchildren (Priscilla, Krista, Tricia, Shawn, Kevin, Anthony, Ryan, Nolan and Crystal), 11 great grandchildren (Kyla, Serena, Lieukas, Damian, Chloe, Aubreigh, Avery, Emily, Illiana, Ben and Loxley) as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Henry (1994), her parents George and Eva, brothers Albert and John England and sister Dorothy England in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Hilldale Lutheran Church with Pastor Arleen Berg Leishman of Hilldale officiating. The interment service at Riverside Cemetery will follow. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hilldale Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
