Mr. Elso Santin, age 86, died peacefully at Hogarth Riverview Manor on December 16, 2018. He was born May 24, 1932, in Azzano Decimo, Italy. Elso immigrated to Canada in his early twenties. His first stop was Toronto before making his way to Fort William where he began his journey as a self-employed carpenter. It was in Fort William where he met his future wife, Eda Carli. They were married May 21, 1956. Elso was a lifetime member of the DaVinci Centre.
He is survived by his children: Susan and Barry Quarrell (Nathaniel, Kaitlyn, Matthew; Larry Santin and Lori McKay (Leya, Kyra); David Santin (Turner, Cale); Lori and Bob Schweiger (Erick, Maverick, Reeve); James Santin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Pat Carli; sister and brother-in-law, Ivana and Rino Vettor; sister-in-law, Rose Santin.
Funeral Service will be held at Blakes Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James Panikulam officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Joseph`s Care Group - Hogarth Riverview Manor.
