Mrs. Emelyn Lorraine Alcorn (nee Kyle) age 102 years, passed away at home on Sunday, June 12, 2016 with family by her side. She was born April 16, 1914 in the Toronto Strathcona Private Hospital, rented and managed by her Aunt Susan.

Emelyn was raised by her Aunt Ethel and Uncle George Field. She was fortunate enough to skip three grades in school. She was an avid ski and toboggan enthusiast.

At the age of 57 Emelyn passed her Real Estate Board exam with flying colours and worked for Twingate Realty. She was also a representative for LeCocq Florist in Schreiber and then worked for the Orchid Flower Shop when she moved to Thunder Bay.

Emelyn had an amazing heart for her church and helped when ever she could, including baking buns for the bake sales up until the age of 99. She loved to travel far and near, golfing became her love in later years.

She is survived by daughters Arlene Lorraine Clarke (Wayne), and Ruth Dianne, grandson Brian William Clarke and family, sister-in-law Lillian Love in B.C., nieces Judy and Marlene

Predeceased by her parents Hugh Foxley and Fannie Kyle, her husband Renold William in 1986, in-laws Bill and Hettie Alcorn, also aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM in St. Thomas Anglican Church with Rev. Doug McClure officiating. Interment to follow in Mountainview Cemetery.
