In the early morning on Monday, March 23, 2015 a mighty warrior (Kozak) entered the Grand Gates of Heaven to finally meet his Beautiful Saviour and hear the words, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

In September of 2000, Emil’s life was changed forever and thus began his journey of sharing the Lord Jesus Christ with everyone he met. His humble and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.

Next to his reverence for the Lord was his passionate love for his family. In July of 1991, he mustered up enough courage to ask Georgia out on a date and for the next 24 years they journeyed together hand in hand.  Emil’s two girls, Zoryana and Annika were his true love and joy, and recently the addition of his cherished grandchildren, Parker and Annabelle.

In his earlier years, Emil enjoyed many sports which included baseball, curling, basketball, volleyball, track and field, and even darts.  He had a passion for golf, which he turned into his mission field.  Be it here in Thunder Bay or travelling through the States, Emil shared his love of God with many  golfers.

He also had great compassion and understanding for those less fortunate and spent as much time as possible sharing the Gospel with the residents at the John Howard Society, Teen Challenge, and Grace Place.  For 37 years Emil was employed at the “Old Factory” (Bombardier) and was so looking forward to retiring in 2016.

Emil was born on January 26th, 1960 to Omelan and Marika Chandon.  Sadly, he leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Georgia and two beautiful daughters, Zoryana (David) and Annika.  In addition to his children, Emil was blessed to see two grandchildren; Parker and Annabelle come into this world.  Also mourning his loss is his brother Walter (Darka) from Toronto, sister Zenya (Francis) Puchalski, mother and father in-law Cathy and Ken Kostick, brother in-law Terry (Chantal) Tait, nephews Demyan (Natalie), Adrian (Sylvia), and Christian, as well as nieces Larissa, Raya, Kali, Tamara (Glenn), Taylor and Talyn.

Emil is predeceased by both his Mama and Tato.

A celebration service will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2015 beginning at 10:00am at Redwood Park Church, 2609 Redwood Ave. E.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army  545 N. Cumberland St or Grace Place Ministries c/o Box 217 Kakabeka Falls, ON P0T 1W0.
