It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Bonazzo on September 6, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born in Vipava, Italy on November 17, 1943.
Emma retired in 2003 from Canada Safeway after 21 years where she met many friends and always came home with a story to tell. Emma’s fondest moments are spending time at Hawkeye Lake, cooking and traveling.
She especially enjoyed being able to travel to the places Jeff lived, and always had a smile on her face when Jaimee and Cody would ask if “they are Grandma’s meatballs” or “Grandma’s mashed potatoes”.
Emma is lovingly remembered by husband Allan with whom she shared 53 years of marriage, daughter Lisa (Shawn), son Jeff (Mint), cherished grandchildren Jaimee and Cody, Brother- in-law Reg Bonazzo, Sister-in-law Jeanette, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Virginio and Giovanna Azzano and Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Bruno and Amelia Bonazzo.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Regional Hospital ICU, especially Dr. Brown and Jennifer for the comfort, compassion and care. As per Emma’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Emma Bonazzo will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday September 10,2016 in the Chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home 21 N. Court Street officiated by Father Victor DeGagne.
