<p> Mrs. Emma Iachetta, age 61 years, passed away unexpectedly in St. Joseph&rsquo;s Care Group on Sunday, April 21, 2013.&nbsp;</p> <p> Emma was born in Grimaldi, Italy on May 7, 1951 to Emilio and Angela Cupello.&nbsp; Along with her mother and sisters she came to Port Arthur in 1957 to join her father and brother.&nbsp;</p> <p> A Registered Nurse, Emma worked briefly at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital before starting a family with her husband Armando, whom she married on June 8, 1974.</p> <p> Emma devoted her life to raising her children.&nbsp;</p> <p> She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, St. Anthony&rsquo;s R.C. Church C.W.L., as well as her coffee and book clubs.&nbsp; She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and music.&nbsp; A sociable person, Emma was happiest when her house was filled with family and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p> She was well renowned for her cooking and baking and she loved preparing food for her family and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p> She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband Armando, children: Frank (Laura), Joe, Adriana (Styve) Grondin, and Nick (Tanya); grandchildren Brooke and Tanner Grondin, sisters Fernanda (Walter) Oles, Francis (Dan) Kosar and Sylvia (Ron) Kivi, brother Mario (Margaret) Cupello, dear friend Jan Seeley Wheatley as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.&nbsp;</p> <p> She was predeceased by her parents, sister Maria in Italy and mother-in-law and father-in-law Gemma and Antonio Iachetta.&nbsp;</p> <p> Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013, leaving the Sargent &amp; Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street at 9:30 a.m. to St. Anthony&rsquo;s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi c.s.&nbsp;</p> <p> The entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.&nbsp;</p> <p> Visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday from 5:30 7 p.m. in the Sargent &amp; Son Chapel where the Vigil Service will begin at 7 p.m.&nbsp;</p> <p> In lieu of flowers memorials to the Thunder Bay Public Library or Autism Ontario would be appreciated.&nbsp; On-line condolences may be made at <a href="http://www.sargentandson.com" target="_blank">www.sargentandson.com</a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;</p>
