William Ernest Brayshaw passed away suddenly at his home in Jacques Township on June 24th, 2016.  

Ernie was born June 14, 1960 to Bill and Jean Brayshaw.  He was very active in all sports but excelled in football.

Ernie graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and started his career in recreation at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre, for the past 31 years as a Prison Guard, most recently as a senior officer. 

He was a dedicated worker and well respected by all his co-workers. He was very active and a leader in OPSEU Local 708. 

Ernie was a loving father, brother, husband and friend.  He enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time at the lake. Many of his days were spent at the family camp on Shebandowan fishing, swimming, and playing cards. 

Survived by his children Karla (Gavin), Toronto, Erica (Travis) and their mother Kay.  Sisters Laurel (Brian) Harrison, Leamington, Linda (Ben) Couture, Calgary, Barbara (Richard) Fontaine, Thunder Bay, Dale (Ron) Tonts, North Vancouver and brother Vaughn (Sue) McGregor.  There are many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends that will also miss his infectious laughter and great stories. 

Services will be held Thursday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N Court Street, with Rev. Chris Harper presiding.  Internment at Riverside Cemetery will follow the reception.  In lieu of flowers please give to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Northern Cancer Fund or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Sargent & Son Funeral Home.
