Eugene Esquega

Eugene, a Band Member and respected Elder of Gull Bay First Nation, passed away on October 8, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

He served as a Band Counsellor and worked as a bushman all his life. He was an avid moose hunter, often feeding the whole community with his “catch”.

Eugene was predeceased by his wife Doreen Barry; brothers: Norman, Jarvis, Michael and Timothy; sisters: Doris, Adeline and Lillian; and son Roger.

He is survived by his son Ricky, numerous children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews; with special mention of granddaughter Karen and great grandson Ryley.

Funeral Services for Eugene will take place on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. Mr. Victor Pelletier. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior. A reception will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Castlegreen Community Centre. Interment with family will be held at a later date in Gull Bay, following cremation.
