It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Felice Cavezza on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the age of 89.

Felice was born in Cicciano, Naples, Italy on June 5, 1932. He immigrated to Canada in 1956. Saying he was a strong man is an understatement. He worked hard to provide for his family and always ensured they had what they needed. He was always happy to share stories of his adventures working on the railroad.

On December 30, 1961 he married his wife Veneranda (Vinnie) Perna. They raised 3 children, Rose, Lou and Nick. They built a beautiful family based on love, hard work and dedication. Felice worked for the City of Thunder Bay in the Water Department until his retirement in 1992.

All summer long, Felice could be found outside working in his garden or puttering in the garage. He was rarely faced with a problem he couldn’t fix. He could “MacGyver” anything. He was proud of his garden and the mini orchard in his back yard. If you went over for a visit, you couldn’t leave without him showing you the fruits of his labour. He was always happy to share what he grew with others. His whole back yard was a vegetable garden. He also had apples, plums, pears and grapes. Fall time was harvest time. Tomatoes, pickles, peppers, wine…you name it, he and Vinnie did it all. They even did tomatoes this past summer. Nothing stopped him.

Felice will be sorely missed by his wife, Veneranda, daughter Rose (Chris), son Lou (Tammi), and daughter in law Linda. Also, left to mourn are his grandchildren: Chris (Krystle), Tony (Shauna), Cassandra (Jean Yves), Ryan (Stephanie) and Jennifer (Stefan) as well as his great grandchildren: Luca, Kaleb, Sawyer, Aria, Hayden and Easton. He has one remaining sibling, Guissepina, in Italy, as well as several brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his son, Nick; his parents, Luigi and Rosa; brothers Antonio, Barbato, and Carmine as well as his sisters Raphaela and Anna.

Funeral arrangements for Felice are pending in care of the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Service times will be announced in the coming weeks.

Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Felice to the Canadian Liver Foundation or St. Elizabeth's Church would be greatly appreciated.
