On June 25, 2017, my dad lost the great love of his life; his sweetheart, his “Scotty.” I lost a loving, giving, sweet mother. Her grandchildren lost the “best” grandmother!
Fern Doris Elizabeth was born January 30, 1927 to Mary and Lawrence Tulloch. She always said her childhood was great, but nothing could compare to her 64-year marriage to her “Johnny,” raising two children. They enjoyed life together by travelling; always in the company of lifelong friends, family, and great neighbours. Their life together was complete when they became proud owners of their beloved camp in Shebandowan. I will now grant my mom’s wish of “Don’t write a long story of my life. For people who knew me know it, and that’s all that matters.” So a promise is a promise, mom.
She is survived by her loving, devoted husband John; daughter Wendy (Dasey), son-in-law Rob; grandchildren, Ben, Devin (Bradley Godwin), Sarah and Nathan (Andrychuk); sister Geira (Matthews); sister-in-law Mary Andrychuk; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by son Brad; parents, Mary and Lawrence Tulloch; in-laws Mary and Alex Andrychuk; brothers, Lawrence and Charles; sisters-in-law, Jean, Olga, Rose, Sheila, and Ann; brothers-in-law, Steve, Don, and Campbell; nephews, Ronnie and Barry; and niece Shelly.
Cremation has taken place. Interment and memorial services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would please her.
