Michieli Ferruccio new

It is with immense sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Ferruccio Michieli, with his loving family by his side. Born on November 10, 1925, in Chions, Pordenone Italy, Ferruccio came to Canada in 1953 in search of a better life for himself and his family.

Along with his brothers Carlo, Angelo and Arsenio, they established Michieli Bros. Construction, which through an enormous amount of hardwork and shear will, flourished. Later, with the addition of the rest of his brothers they developed and created numerous landmarks in the city, some of which still display their signature trademark stonework. Retirement saw dad become the driving force behind his son’s companies Lormar Construction and Michieli Equipment Rentals, which brought him a lot of joy and kept him very busy.

Dad was an avid gardener who took pride in his greenhouse and his many fruit trees.  He was an expert winemaker and found joy in sharing a glass of his finest with his family and friends.  You would never leave his home without a bag of fresh vegetables and glass of wine. As a member of both the Davinci Centre and the St. Dominic’s Seniors club, he enjoyed playing bocce ball and shared an intense game of cards with friends.  Dad also enjoyed spending the occasional afternoon at Grand Portage to try his luck.

Loyalty, generosity, hardwork, kindness, and above all his pride and everlasting support of his wife, children and grandchildren were what identified him and will be instilled in us forever. A man of distinction that will never be forgotten.

Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lina (Danelon), sons Giovanni (Julie, Maximilian and Molly), Mario (Lorraine, Gabriella and Nicholas) and daughter Marisa Kubinec (Michael, Ethan and Kayla). Brothers Angelo (Annie), Giovanni (Bruna), Giorgio (Maria-Rosa), Joe (Wendy), sisters Anna Dedona and Maruccia Selan.  In-laws Bruna Michieli, Augusto Vittore, Elena Danelon, Ulivo (Maria)  and Lino Danelon. Also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives in Canada and Italy. Predeceased by parents Giovanni and Maria (Tesolin) Michieli, brothers Arsenio and Carlo and sister Teresa, brother in-law Angelo Danelon and Giovanni Dedona and Rosa Danelon.
