Mrs. Frances Jodoin, age 97 years, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2021 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with family by her side.
Frances was born in Ottawa (Nepean), Ontario on April 27, 1924. She took pride working many jobs with her earliest being Borden’s Dairy and finally her dream job at Family Medicine Centre, Ottawa Civic Hospital where she retired after 16 years in 1989.
Her happiest times were being with her family and friends, she loved to socialize and travel. Frances and her husband Jerome were very active in the Anglican Church and belonged to the Barrhaven Legion where they spent much of their time raising donations and helping with the poppy fund.
Frances will be missed by her sons Curtis Posselwhite (Patricia), Shawn Posselwhite, step-son Garry Jodoin (Mary Pimemtel) and step-daughter Sandra Posselwhite; grandchildren Kerry Posselwhite (Ashley McMillan), Kristy Posselwhite (Jonathon Hansen), Kaitlyn Posselwhite (Eric Hall) and Kaitlyn’s mother Yasmeen Gagnon; great grandchildren Victoria, Preston, Hayleigh, Theodore McMillan, Benjamin and Arkin.
Frances was predeceased by her first husband Kenneth Posselwhite, her son Robert Posselwhite, step-son Roy Posselwhite and second husband Jerome Jodoin; dear parents John and Edith Charbonneau and siblings Kyrle, Bobby, Harold, Laird, Walter, Ila and Vilma.
Special thanks to her loving nieces and nephews, especially to Janis, Joy, Penny and Kyrle. Her treasured friendships with Nicky Plouffe, the Parfitt Family, the Sunshine Girls, Tanya Bergeron, Barrhaven Legion Members and many other friends.
A celebration of Frances’ life will be held in Ottawa and announced at a later date. Donations in memory of Frances may be made to the Ottawa Mission or the Barrhaven Legion.
