In loving memory of Frances Kerslake, age 94 years, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2020.

Frances was born in Dysart, Saskatchewan on January 14, 1926 to parents Mary and Anton Mayer. She was the 9th of 13 children. The family moved to Round Lake, west of Thunder Bay, when she was young. She worked at the Canada Car Plant during WWII sewing leather for the soldier’s helmets with sister Carrie. She went on to work at the Chapples Department Store and the Ministry of Natural Resources tree farm in the fields.

In May of 1951 she married her lifelong love Clifford and they had 2 boys, Patrick and Jim. She was very involved in the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 225 Legion and at Pinegrove United Church to which she and Clifford belonged for the remainder of their years. She was an avid bowler at Galaxy Lanes and took her granddaughters to the Youth bowling games every Saturday. She enjoyed gardening, and helping her community by knitting baby garments for infants at the hospital and knitting teddy bears for the Thunder Bay Police to keep on hand to comfort children.

Predeceased by loving husband Clifford, parents Mary and Anton and all 12 of her siblings. She is survived by her children Patrick and James (Linda); granddaughters Amanda (Mike), Tracey (John) and Michelle (Chris) and adored great-granddaughter Ava.

There will be a private family service held and burial will take place at Stanley Hill Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations to the charity of their choice would be greatly appreciated, in lieu of flowers.
