It is with great sadness, we regret to announce the sudden passing of Frances Priscott on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the age of 67. She passed away peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with family by her side.
Frances was born in Thunder Bay in 1950 and graduated from St. Patrick's High School, as well as Confederation College as an X-Ray Technician. She later went on to be a Ward Clerk at McKellar Hospital and TBRHSC, where she made fellow staff feel welcome and went the extra mile to help support patients and their families. We have now experienced how valuable this trait truly was and would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses in the ICU at TBRHSC for their care.
Frances was a member of the Fort William Figure Skating Club and had a great love for figure skating, notably taking a retirement trip to Boston last year to enjoy the World Championships in person. She loved taking her mother Stella out every Tuesday and on road trips to Grand Portage. She enjoyed visiting her daughter Becky in Toronto a few times a year and exploring the local neighbourhoods downtown. She was married to Rod for 45 years and loved spending time with him and their Labrador retriever, Sadie, at their home on Lake Superior where she took beautiful pictures of the sunset on the lake.
She is survived by her mother Stella Gombola, husband Rod, and daughter Rebecca. She was predeceased by her son Randy, brother Larry Gombola, father Steve Gombola, niece Jerilyn, and brothers in law Jack and Greg Priscott.
A Celebration of Frances' life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 10:00 am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 Gore Street West at James with Father Jerin Louis officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined, however if friends so desire, memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Camp Quality would be appreciated.
