Francis Bourgeois

Mrs. Francis Marie Elizabeth Bourgeois, age 59 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with family by her side on July 15, 2017. She was born on November 26, 1957 in Montreal, Quebec to Frank and Cecile Nish. She was raised in Montreal, QB and Atikokan, ON.

While living in Atikokan, Francis met and married her first love, Gerald with whom she had three beautiful children, Jennifer, Richard and Emily. Francis had numerous jobs over the years never quite finding her niche. She was very passionate about her grandchildren, gardening, camping, fishing and cooking as well as being with family and friends. Fran thoroughly loved all crafts particularly painting ceramic ornaments, which she displayed in every corner of her home. She regularly attended Grassroots Church where she found her spiritual family. Following the death of her late husband Gerald, she joined the 55 plus center and became an active member of their choir. Francis was a young, strong and independent woman who sought companionship and eventually found a new love, Dennis Jensen whom she married on June 25, 2016. Even though their time together may have been short it was filled with love, laughter and joy.

She is predeceased by her late husband Gerald and her mother Cecile. She is survived by her spouse, Dennis Jensen and her children, daughter Jennifer Jewett (Jeff) and their children Brianna and Tristen; son, Richard Bourgeois (Becky) and their children Stephan, Joshua, Wyatt and Sierra all of Thunder Bay and daughter Emily Miller (Grant) and their children Serenity, Caine and Alexander of Kingston, ON. Her father Frank Nish (Ellen); sisters, Nancy Nish and Norma Rowley (Mark) and her brother Mike Nish (Laura) and their children John, and Georgina all of Calgary Alberta.

As per Francis' wish, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday July 20, 2017 at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Grassroots Church on Balmoral St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the MS Society or a charity of your choice.
