Francis William Wenzell
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Francis William Wenzell, after an eight-day battle with cancer. Born August 1, 1940 – only son of 7 children born on his Dad’s birthday.

Son to the late Frank and Mary Wenzell. Survived by his sisters Joan McCarthy, Dorothy Sawicki, Judy (Gord) Wooldridge, Maureen (Dwight) Stirrett, Patty (Emil) Slivchak, and Marilyn (David) Schaus, and sister-in-law Fran Dielschneider as well as numerous cherished nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brothers-in-law, Wayne McCarthy, Roger Sawicki, Larry Zweep, Vic Clark, Peter Dielschneider, parents in-law Joseph and Ida Brassard, sister-in-law Rita Zweep, and niece Sharon Fucile.

Devoted husband of Jo-Anne, beloved father to Frank (Carrol), Bernadette (David) Grant, Robert (deceased), John (Romina), and Loving grandfather to Joseph, Robert (Katlyn), Christopher, Nathan, Sara, Thomas, Mary, Teresa, John Paul, and Elizabeth. Cherished great-grandfather to Theoden.

You may have known him as ‘Sonny’ or Frank Jr., Dad, Grandpa or Great-Grandpa. No matter the name, if you knew him, you would know his kindness. He was faithfully devoted to his family and to God, a witness to the life of Christ. His greatest gift was his BIG heart, if there was a child around, he had a quarter, loonie or chocolate bar to share. Anyone who entered Wenzell’s Clothing, Frank considered a friend, not just a customer. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a great respect for God’s creation. Whether it was hunting, fishing, chopping wood, creating the best lawn around, or tending to one of his many gardens, he was in his element. He found joy in helping others, giving away fish and visiting with everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honour of knowing him. We love you, and will miss you.
