Franciszka Frances Starczewski

Mrs. Franciszka `Frances` Starczewski, age 88 years passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

Frances was born on March 11, 1929 in Podzameczek, Poland, the youngest of three children. In 1949 she immigrated to Canada along with her older brother and her father. Frances met the love of her life Bruno, and they married in 1950. They started their family and settled at their farm on Oliver Road, and together they worked countless hours as they watched their dairy farm grow. They took great pride in their farm, and also in their vegetable garden, which she continued to plant year after year.

Frances loved cooking large meals for family and friends, which were always followed by a rousing game of cards. Her family was her priority. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and she relished in their accomplishments. She was especially thrilled to have a chance to visit with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren this past Christmas.

Frances relied on her strong faith to guide her along her journey in life and she was a member of St. Mary's Our Queen of Poland Catholic Church.

Survived by her son, Bruno Jr. (Lynda) Starczewski; daughter, Krystyna (Michael) Patroluk, grandchildren, Laurie (Christopher) Millington, Sarah (Michael) Lawrence and Karen Patroluk and great grandchildren Owen, Teddy, Nathan, Everett and Jacob. Predeceased by her husband Bruno in 2004, her parents, sister Katarzyna and brother Jozef.

Funeral Mass for the late Mrs. Frances Starczewski will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Our Lady Queen of Poland R. C. Church celebrated by Father Ireneusz Stadler. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, with the Vigil Prayers offered at 7:00 PM.

Should friends so desire, donations to St. Mary's Our Lady Queen of Poland Church would be greatly appreciated.
