Gabriel Tebishgoeshik, age 59 years, a resident of Whitesand First Nation passed away on Wednesday May 6, 2020.

Gabriel was born in Sioux Lookout but was raised in Ferland, ON. In 1978 he and his family moved to Armstrong, ON and settled in Whitesand First Nation where he remained a resident. Gabriel was a hard worker who provided wild game for his family and community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and blueberry picking. He always tried to keep busy. Gabriel was a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan. From the times of only radio and now TV, he would listen and watch every game he could and cheered them on. His daily routine was going to get his Proline ticket which he loved to play. Gabriel also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially loved his grandchildren and would visit with them often. Gabriel also received a certificate of honor from the OPP for helping to save a life.

Gabriel will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Roberta (Adrien) and Lydia (Darnell); grandchildren Christian, Adrianne, Kristen, Larenzo, Page, Heidi and Emerson; great-grandson Josiah; sister Caroline and brother Chris (Tanya); nieces Shannon (Larry), Lisa (Lionel), Crystal and Alora, nephews Clifford (Hope), Randy (Melanie), Wayne, Douglas Jr. (Dawnis), Darin, Joshua and Tarcisius, aunt Cecilia Kwandibens, several great-nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Gabriel was predeceased by his daughter Kristen and son Gabriel Kwandibens; father Frank, mother Amelia, grandparents Peter and Elizabeth, sisters Sarah, Jeanette, Doris and Kathleen; brothers Arthur, Kenneth, Douglas Sr, Noel, Ronnie and Peter John; niece Gloria-Jean; aunts Mary Tibishkogijig, Liza Head and Mary Willoughby; and uncles Tommy Head, Harry Head, Victor Head, Gerry Head and Joe Head.

Visitation for family and friends will be held in Armstrong on Friday from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Our Lady of the Snow R.C. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 11:00 am with interment to follow.
