It is with incredible sadness that the family of Gary Tripp announce his passing on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 80 years of age.  Gary battled cancer a number of times throughout his life and was the victor until this last bout.  He was incredibly proud of his family and loved spending time with them.  He was husband to Barb for 53 years, father to Heather (Rob), Sandra (Gary) and Gary (Cathie), grandpa to Lawrance, Matthew, Joshua, Jonathan, and William, Papa to Christopher and Isla, and brother to Bruce (Lil), Ruth (late, Ken) and Wanda (Randy).  Many nieces, nephews, and in-laws rounded out the family making for many large happy family gatherings.

Gary was a master electrician working construction before prioritizing family to work at Great Lakes Paper.  He enjoyed his 23 years of retirement by volunteering, working with Bill and helping people however he could.

He had a lifelong love of learning, with a keen passion for genealogy, archeology, history and keeping up with current events.  He was our go-to person when we were looking for an answer on pretty much any topic, and he was seldom wrong.

Camping was a lifelong passion with many weekends spent at Lake Lenore, Max Lake or in the RV.  Gary, Barb, her twin sister Liz, and Al were “The Fabulous Four” playing cards, drinking wine and always working on the latest project.

He was a very spiritual person actively involved with the Knights of Columbus and St. Agnes Parish, in particular perfecting the technique to make the ideal candy apples for Gold Rush.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 12:10 p.m. at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. James Panikulam.  Interment will take place at a later date.  If friends desire, memorials to the St. Agnes Church would be appreciated.
