Mrs. Georgette Pineau, age 87 years, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Care Group on Friday, May 26, 2017.
She was born in Bolkow, Ontario on June 16, 1929, the daughter of Celeste and Aimie Lamoureux. Georgette had lived in Thunder Bay for over 60 years and during that time worked at the Port Arthur General Hospital, retiring as Housekeeping Supervisor. She had a passion for needlepoint, enjoyed playing cards, and created many cherished memories during time spent with family and friends at the camp at Whitefish Lake.
Her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a recent hospital visit from her newest great granddaughter made her day. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband Bob Hilliard, children John (Debbie) Moreau, Gary Moreau, Lynda (Vic) Volochkov, Lorraine Ranger and Richard (Heidi) Pineau, brother Leonard (Joan) Lamoureux, sister Rose Dimmery as well as by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was predeceased by husband Leo Pineau, daughter Shirley Marrier and brothers Rene and Emmanuel Lamoureux. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Georgette Pineau will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Harold Hunt presiding. The inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the T.B.R.H.S.
