The Garieri family is saddened to say goodbye today to their son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle and awesome friend. Gerard was someone that you could always count on.

He was kindhearted and loved life.  Some of his favourite activities included river fishing with his dad and brothers, driving around with the best loud music ever and playing pool with ‘his team’.  His unconditional love for family and friends may have only been surpassed by his love for dogs. If you needed a job done he was there even when the job was too big for him to handle, he found a way. In his earlier days he enjoyed working at various establishments as a bouncer. Gerard was known for his business savvy skills at buying, repairing and flipping cars. Right to the last few days you could find him on his phone, making arrangements to buy, fix and sell vehicles.

Gerard is survived by his parents Liberata and Peter Garieri his brothers Rob (Sherri-Lynn), Sal(Jamie), Gene, Pepe, nieces and nephews Samantha (Pat), Marcelo (Faith) Carlee, (Kyle) Teralyn( Landon), Joey and great niece Juniper. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins in Southern Ontario and Italy.  He had many great friends he considered family, especially Sean, Frank, Pino, Ryan, Rob, Luigi M., Donnie, Darin and his pool team.

He also appreciated the time, care and consideration of good friends and neighbours who he thought of fondly. The family would like to thank the medical staff and teams especially home care nurse Georgette, PSWs Todd, Janet Rose, Drs. Del Paggio, and Simpson, the nurses on 1A Oncology especially Leslie, Olivia and Katelyn for making his final days comfortable.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.  On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
