Mr. Gim Woo Lam, age 88 years, passed away peacefully at Bethammi Nursing Home on Friday, November 7, 2014.
He was born in Toishan, China on September 4, 1926, the son of Joe and Ho San Lam. He enjoyed his flower garden and plants. A hard working man, Gim Woo owned and operated the Sampan Chinese Restaurant.
He is survived by his sons George (Elaine) Lam of Calgary, Bill (Wendy) Lam of Thunder Bay and Raymond (May) Lam of Toronto, grandchildren: Eric (Krista), Tammy, Jackie, Angela, Christine and Jonathan; brother-in-law Sang Let Jung and his children Parker, Dinah and Linda and his granddaughter Alana. Gim Woo was predeceased by his wife Har Ling Lam, father Joe 'Pee Wee' Lam, mother Ho San Lam and sister Kow Sow Jung.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Lloyd Ivany presiding.
The interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 13th in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel.
