Giorgio Laudone

Mr. Giorgio “George” Laudone, age 94 years, a resident of Southbridge Pinewood, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Giorgio was born on September 22, 1928 in San Giorgio Albanese, Cosenza, Italy. In 1954, he married the love of his life Antonietta (nee Ferriolo); together immigrating to Canada in 1956. His hobbies included gardening, making wine, fishing and the outdoors.

Giorgio worked hard, employed at Great Lakes Paper, and owning and operating a small business “The Little Blue Store” from 1970-1985, where he sold Italian and religious furnishings, which can still be found in homes today.

Giorgio will be dearly missed and remembered by his loving sons: Francesco, Pasquale, Dino and Enzo; grandchildren: Mathew, Michelle, Jenilee, Anthony, Laura; his great-grandchildren; two brothers Father Don Angelo, Cosmo and sister Annina in Rome, Italy.

The family wish to thank the kind professionals at Southbridge Pinewood for their compassion, care and who went the extra mile for Giorgio/Papa!

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew’s Cemetery. For those unable to attend in person, the mass will be streamed live at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre where the Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Should friends so desire, donations may be offered to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
