Mrs. Giovanna Manzon (nee Tesolin) age 87 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
Giovanna was born and raised in Fiume Veneto, Italy. On December 11, 1954 she married Valerio Manzon.
Eight days later they emigrated to Canada settling in Fort William. She loved to work in her garden and take care of her family and always took great pride in looking after the family home. She was a longtime member of St. Dominic’s Church.
Giovanna is survived by her brothers Bruno and Giuseppe Tesolin and their families in Quebec, and sister Onorina Tesolin and her family in Italy. She is also survived by in- laws Lino and Luciana Manzon, nephew Paul (Michelina Pepe) Manzon, nieces Vicki (Ron) Falvo and Nella Zorzes, nephews Dallas and David Falvo, several nephews, nieces and other relatives, and special friends Lorna Lehtinen and Velia DeLorenzi.
She was predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Ida Tesolin, her husband Valerio, son Roberto and in-laws Norina and Mario Zorzes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 4, 2016, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Dominic's Church celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi c.s. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the church one hour prior to mass.
If friends desire, memorials to the St. Joseph's Hospital or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre would be appreciated.
Giovanna Manzon will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
