Mr. Girolamo “Joe” Crupi, age 86 years, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation visiting family and friends in Siderno, Italy on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
He was born in Siderno, Province di Reggio Calabria on August 14, 1930, the son of Francesco and Rosina.
Joe worked for many years at Sask. Pool 15 until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at the beach while on vacation, watching soccer, especially his beloved Inter Milan, working in the garden and playing cards with family and friends.
Joe’s greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren who brought him so much joy.
He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Elisabetta, sons Franco and Giuseppe daughter Ivana (Matthew) Simmons, grandchildren: Lucas, Alexa and Matteo, brother Michele, brother-in-law Giovanni (Isotta) Ferraro, sister-in-law Rosetta Ferraro, Giuseppe Ferraro, Rosetta and Nick Commisso of Schrieber, Maria and Domenico Pagliacolo from Toronto, Luigi Tosi from Windsor, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was predeceased by his parents Francesco and Rosina and siblings: Giuseppe, Lina, Maria, Teresa, Antonio and Domenico. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 when family and friends will gather in St. Dominic’s R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 9:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi c.s.
The entombment will follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
Visitation for friends will be held on Friday, September 23rd from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street where the Vigil Service will begin at 6 p.m.
