It is with broken hearts that the family of Giuseppantonio Rosso announces his passing on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 with his family by his side in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Giuseppantonio was born in Simbario, Vibo Valentia.

He worked in France, Germany, Australia and Canada doing jobs in construction, railway work, as a tailor, paper mill and skidder/grapple operator.

He married the love of his life Rosina on November 26, 1977. He enjoyed planting his garden, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Port Arthur Italian Cultural Centre for many, many years and enjoyed playing cards with the group. He was a life time parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church.

Giuseppantonio will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Rosina of 37 years, his brothers Nicola (Dina), Salvatore (Caterina), his sisters Caterina (Vincenzo), Rosina (Vito),  Lisa (Vincenzo), sisters-in-law Concetta Rosso and  Elvira Rosso, brother-in-law Joe Varano, Zia Caterina from France, brothers-in-law Frank (Margaurite), Bruno Carchidi, sister-in-law Assunta (Biagio) and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada and Europe.

Giuseppantonio was predeceased by his parents Domenico and Maria Rosa, brother Domenico, brother Frank, sister Maria Varano, mother and father-in-law Nicola and Giuseppina Carchidi, brother-in-law Raffaele Carchidi and other aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and Europe.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 24th leaving the Harbourview Funeral Centre at 10:00 a.m. to St. Anthony’s R. C. Church, 123 Hilldale Road, for the Funeral Mass to be celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, where the Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

If friends so desire, donations may be made in Giuseppantonio’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
