It is with heavy hearts that the family of Giuseppe “Joe” Talarico announces his passing on Thursday, July 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born on January 11, 1938 in Soveria Mannelli, Province of Catanzaro, Italy. Son of Luigi Talarico and Paola Costanzo. He met his adored wife, Vincenza, in the neighbouring village, they married and had three children. In the late 1960s, wanting to make a better life for his family, Joe and his young family made the adventurous move to Canada in the middle of February.

Joe was a painter by trade. Never afraid of a challenge and hard work, and after several years in Thunder Bay working for others, he established his own successful painting company, Talarico Painting.

Joe loved meal times at home with family. Some of his favourite things were growing fresh tomatoes in the green house, watching Italian movies and the wrestling fights on TV. He also loved the perfect watermelon on a hot summer day, and good Italian cheese any day.

Joe is survived by his three loving children, Louis and wife Michelle, Paula and husband Meshack, Vince and wife Mary; his four grandsons, Joseph and wife Amanda, Christopher, Luca and Troy; his great granddaughter Serena, and by his youngest sibling Mimma (Gustavo) Micculli.
