Mr. Giuseppe “Joe” Zussino, age 77 years, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 19, 2021, with his wife by his side.
Joe was born in Taipana, Udine, Italy on February 1, 1944, to Giovanni and Adelaide Zussino. He, along with his mother and younger brother Tiziano, immigrated to Port Arthur in 1965 to join his father who had already moved here. Joe spent most of his working life as a sheet metal worker. Joe’s free time was spent working on projects around his home. A strong, smart, and stubborn man his projects were always done to the highest quality, striving for perfection in everything that he did. He also enjoyed making wine and spending time in the garden and spending many days after his father’s passing assisting his mother. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Stella, children Jessica and Josie, grandchildren Madelynn and Rosalie, sister-in-law Lucina Zussino, nephews Michael, Steven and Johnny Zussino, and his special Aunt Maria and her daughter Nadia in Italy. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Tiziano.
A service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Luigi Filippini presiding. Those wishing to attend the service may do so by registering on Joe’s page or by calling 345-5351.
