Mrs. Giuseppina Baggetta, age 61, passed away peacefully with all of her family at her side in St. Joseph's Hospice on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011.
Giuseppina never gave up on life and fought courageously until the end.
Giuseppina was born on June 25, 1949 in Siderno Marina, Reggio Calabria, Italy. She was married to Antonio Baggetta on March 1, 1970 and both immigrated to Fort William that same year.
Giuseppina and her husband raised three children. She was a dedicated mother and wife. In January 2010, she became a grandmother and her grandson Dante gave her renewed hope and courage. She was a true example of love and goodwill to all who knew her.
Giuseppina is survived and will be sadly missed by Antonio her loving husband of 41 years; children Graziella, Maria (Dan), Giuseppe (Mindy) and her precious grandson Dante. Also survived by her sister Franca Sarroino (Italy), brother and sisters-in-law Carlo Baggetta (Carmela), Giovanni Muia (Angela) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Giuseppina Baggetta will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 with family and friends gathering in St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 1 p.m.
Entombment to follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum, St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be offered for friends on Monday evening in the Church at 7:30 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Giuseppina's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
