It is with great sadness that the family of Giuseppina Vacca announces her passing on May 26, 2021 at Lakehead Manor. Giuseppina was born in Castelpetroso, Italy. She came to Canada with her husband Pasquale in 1958, settling in Fort William where there were other family members. She was employed at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital until retiring in 1995. Giuseppina enjoyed the company of family and friends and cooking was a great passion.

Giuseppina is survived by: Mario Vacca (son), Florina Werpny (daughter); also 3 sisters and 1 brother: Anna D’uva of Toronto, Antoniette Cicchino, Mary (Dave) Horne and Felix (Maria) Iannone, all of Thunder Bay. Also survived by grandchildren: Dana (Bogdan) Tudore of Toronto and Shawn Werpny of Thunder Bay. She is survived by one great-granddaughter Isabella Tudore. She is also survived by 3 sister-in-law’s; Donata Agosti and Dahlia Vacca in Toronto, and Assunta Vacca in Italy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Thunder Bay, Toronto, Italy, the USA and Argentina. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Pasquale.

Due to the current restrictions a Private Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, celebrated by Rev. Michael Mahoney of St. Dominic’s R.C. Church. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
