The family of Glen Viheriasalo are saddened to announce his unexpected, but peaceful passing on September 18, 2023. Glen was born to parents Olavi and Toini Viheriasalo on May 25, 1961. He lived his entire life in Thunder Bay, attending Algonquin Avenue Public School and Hammarskjold High School. He worked various jobs, mainly Provincial Papers, GRK Industries and the majority of his career being spent at Old Dutch Foods until his retirement in 2021. In his spare time, Glen always enjoyed fishing, hunting, helping friends and woodworking in his garage. He had many fond memories of his time spent out at Stewart Lake with the Harris family for many years.
 
Glen is survived by and will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Kimberly (Michael Kozak) and Kelly (Billy Penko), his two grandsons Kaiden Coish and Easton Kozak, his mother Toini Viheriasalo, sister and brother-in-law Rita and Luccio Cacciatore, sister and brother-in-law Lana Viheriasalo and Colin Morancy, nieces and nephews Michael Cacciatore (Sarah), Dayna Ducey (Kyle), Madelaine Morancy and Nate Morancy, his brother-in-law and best friend Stephen Harris and wife Shelley Harris along with their four children, Brandon, Reilly, Joshua and Paige. Glen was predeceased by his father Olavi Viheriasalo in 1998.
 
Cremation has taken place and as per Glen’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Dew Drop Inn. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
