Gloria Marie Pella, aged 93 years, lifetime resident of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at St. Joseph’s Hospital on October 26, 2018. Gloria was born on October 15, 1925 in Fort William, Ontario. She married Bruno in August 1945. While Gloria worked briefly outside her home, she loved her role as a homemaker. Her greatest sources of pleasure were her family and her home. Gloria was a lifetime member of St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church and member of Ladies-Principle Di Piemonte Societa Italiana. In her younger years, Gloria liked traveling, bingo and cards with her friends.
Left to honour her memory are her three children, Yvonne Dwinnell, Dennis (Pennie) and Danny (Patricia); nine grandchildren, Shannon (Rob), Matthew, Lindsay (Nicholas), Melanie (Alex), Daniel (Katie), Grace, Thomas, James and Michael; nine great grandchildren, Grayson, Bevan, Rory, Daniel, Benjamin, Olivia, Sam, Ella and Henry; and brother Gino Taiariol. Gloria was preceded in death by husband Bruno, parents Eugenio and Ginesta, and sister Irene in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 12 noon at St. Dominic’s Church, 130 Redwood Ave. Visitation at 11 o’clock at the church. Service will be followed by a reception at the church and then interment at Mountain View Cemetery. The Pella family would like to thank the staff of 5S at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their attentive and loving care of Gloria.
Gloria Pella will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 9, 2019.
