Mom's mind was exceptionally sharp, however her body couldn’t keep up. If you knew Mom you would understand that dying was going to be on her terms, so on Thursday, June 2nd at 10:30 in the morning Mom left this world to be reunited with her family that had left before her.

Mrs. Gloria Bernice Tiboni (re: Powley) aged 85 years, beloved Wife, Mother, Nana, Great Nana, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Sister in-law and Friend. It is with much love, admiration & respect for Mom that we announce her final journey at home with her son Perry at her side. Mom held my hand, told me she would save a place at the family table up there, I told her not to expect me any time soon, she smiled, said good, squeezed my hand then closed her eyes for the last time. On Wednesday our immediate family gathered at Moms to enjoy her sense of humor, we ate her favorite chicken dinner, KFC and then everyone said their good byes. Mom’s strong Roman Catholic faith prepared her for the final journey.

Mom was born in Fort William on September 16th, 1936 and was one of 5 children. In her early years mom enjoyed family time with her parents and siblings and she told me that she nor her sisters never got into trouble. Her dream was to get married and have children and in 1956 she married Dad and they had 3 wonderful children. Mom enjoyed  bowling, playing cards, bingo, knitting, antique hunting, hosting parties for their friends, spec fishing with Dad in the canoe. Mom and Dad were members of the Moose Lodge back in the 60’s when Mom tried her hand at acting on stage for a Lodge function, more enjoyment came from playing the machines at any casino however her greatest passion were her grand kids.  Mom was a domestic engineer (stay at home mom) I made the awful mistake of telling a friend once my Mom didn’t work, be assured that was never said again. Her cooking ability & variety of dishes were beyond fantastic, suppers were at 5pm sharp and you ate everything on your plate. Our home was always perfectly in order, washing machine ran every day and as a youngster I can still remember Mom darning dad’s work socks using a light bulb for ease of mending and finally all our cloths were ironed and put away with love. Mom enjoyed the time in the travel trailer with her young family then in the late 60’s Mom & Dad bought a camp at Sunnyside Beach, in 1975 they built our family home on Lake Shore Dr. When Mom & Dad began wintering in Arizona the home was sold and another cottage was purchased this time at Grandview Beach which they called home during the summer months, Moms heart always remained in the family home on Selkirk Ave. where the kids grew up.

Mom is survived by her son Perry, granddaughter Kathryn Tiboni, daughter Debbie & son in law Jim Potvin, great grandson Joey Harmer, great granddaughter Tyra, great grandsons, Shelby & Cameron Tiboni their mother Melissa Lambert,, sister Ruby Cole, sister in laws Anna Jucha, Carol Tiboni, Jackie Tiboni, Rita (Frank) Kushnier, longtime friend Bernice Dawd and numerous other relatives and friends. We wish to thank Rose Williams (VON) for her excellent care of mom.

Mom was predeceased by Dad (Albert) 2016, son Terrance Tiboni 1983, grandson Grant Tiboni 2016, grandson Terrance Harmer 2021, great grandson Nathan Andrews 2021, parents Joe & Miley (Muff) Powley, childhood brothers Heckter & Joey Powley, sister Colleen (Julius) Szender, brothers in law Jim Cole, Jan Jucha & Ernie Tiboni, Jeanette Canzi (Lance Widnal), in laws Bobby & Dorthy Tiboni, Geraldine (Gary) Lysak, parent in laws Henry & Amelia Tiboni, longtime childhood friend Lois Marien and numerous relatives and friends.

As per Moms request cremation has taken place and there will be no services, interment of Mom & Dads ashes will be at a later date with immediate family. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be very grateful.

If you must bury something let it be my fault

My weaknesses and all prejudice

Against my fellow man.

Give my sins to the devil

Give my soul to God

If by chance you wish to remember me,

Do it with a kind deed or word

To someone who needs you.

If you do all I have asked, I will live forever
