Mr. Gordon John Klages age 94 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, days short of his 95th birthday.

He was born October 31, 1921 at Moose Hill Ontario. His early years were spent as a farmer working with his father and then on his own in Blake Township.

In the early 70’s he moved into town and worked at Palm Dairies until his retirement. In his younger years, he and Ann enjoyed traveling, gardening, taking long walks and family times.

Gordon liked to bowl, play cards, golf and of course the many enjoyable afternoons at the casino, with Avril and Mike.

Gordon was an avid Blue Jays fan and he enjoyed watching all their games and discussing the results and statistics on the phone with his family.

He was a past member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Club and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Gordon is survived by his daughters Lori Ksonzyna (Gerald Symonds), Gail Ksonzyna and Catherine Colman (David), grandchildren Kait, Tanner, Samuel and Olivia, nieces Avril Lalonde (Mike), Marta Klages, Kristine Brown (Gary).

He was predeceased by his wife Ann in 2000, his parents Louis Sr. and Edith Klages, brothers Carl (Hazel), Clarence, Louis Jr. (Patricia), and a sister in infancyas well as close friend Florence Marshall.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Neil Otke officiating. Visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at a later date at St. Andrew's Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials to Canadian Diabetes or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
