Gordon Ratz, age 68 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2018 with his family by his side in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Gordon was born on April 13, 1950 in Nipigon, Ontario to Karl and Marjorie Ratz and he was one of 10 siblings. He left home to work in the bush and then later on, in the mill for Great Lakes Forest Products where he was a dedicated employee until his retirement in 2007.

He enjoyed spending his free time doing many things, but he loved being outdoors, playing music on his guitar or harmonica, spending time with family and friends, working on vehicles and playing pranks on any poor unsuspecting loved one.

Missing him already are his daughter, Lauri Ratz (Craig); step-daughter, Claire Gagnon (Mike) and step-son, Denis St Pierre (Merlin); his siblings, Karl Ratz (Evie), Patricia MacDonald, John Ratz, Martin Ratz (Eileen) and Richard Ratz (Beatrice). He also leaves behind four grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Gord was predeceased by his beloved wife, Francis Ratz; parents, Karl and Marjorie Ratz; sisters, Carol and Barb Ratz, brothers, Karan and Ronnie Ratz and one niece.

His family are eternally grateful for the compassionate care he received at TBRHSC as well as Pinewood Court and Hilldale Gardens.

Funeral Services for the late Mr. Gordon Ratz will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Private interment will be held in Hurkett United Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

We're sad to see you go, but find comfort knowing your wish to be reunited with Franny, who you loved fiercely, has been fulfilled.
