After a long courageous battle with cancer, Greg Tapsay passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice on April 4th, 2018, at age 60, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted and dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Greg was employed at CP Rail for 37 years starting in the car department then switching to conductor, engineer, and retiring as Road Manager. He was highly respected by those he worked with.

Born in Fort William, Ontario on May 26, 1957 to Roy and May Tapsay. He was the youngest sibling to Debbie and Ron.

Greg was passionate about working on cars, riding his motorcycle and driving his '68 corvette. There are many cherished memories of camping at Raleigh Lake, Dog Lake and our family favourite, Brown's Clearwater. Greg had a great sense of humour that kept everyone entertained and helped us throughout his long journey. He had the ability to instantly connect with those he met while making lifelong friendships.

His greatest joys came from the birth of his children, Debra and Erik whom he was extremely proud of. You could always find Greg alongside his children at the curling and hockey rinks supporting and cheering them on.

Greg was predeceased by his father Roy, mother May and sister Debbie.

Greg was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his loving wife Lori of 20 years, daughter Debra and son Erik. He is also survived by his brother Ron (Susan), his nieces Meghan, Cheyna and Nikki, and nephew Daniel. Greg is lovingly remembered by his in-laws, the Manser, Callaghan, Allison, Skirving and George families, as well as numerous relatives.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to Dr. Migay, Dr. Everall, Dr. Davis, Mandy, the physiotherapists, nursing, kitchen and housekeeping staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for the care and attention given to Greg during his battle.

A very heartfelt thank you to the one person Who has been instrumental in Greg's care Dr. Moira Mangatal. If it was not for you we certainly would Not have had the time we had together.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harbourview Funeral Centre. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in the Chapel of the Harbourview Funeral Centre presided by Rev. Gordon Holroyd. Interment in Mountainview Cemetery.

If friends desire, memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thunder Bay or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Greg, I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you and then I realized... you spent the rest of your life with me. ~Lori
