It is with profound sadness that the family of Greg C Pugh regretfully announce his sudden passing on July 29, 2017 at the Toronto General Hospital.
Greg was born on May 28, 1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Roger and Joyce Pugh (Otway).
A humble family from a roaring clan of close kin, they moved to begin a new life in Thunder Bay. Greg eventually found his soul mate, best friend, and one and only with Doris Schincariol. The pair were married for a wonderful 39 years sharing many precious ups and downs but always together. Greg was a very inquisitive person, always working with his hands and made a hobby of building and taking things apart. A true craftsman; this led him to pursue employment at Bowater (Great Lakes) as a millwright and actively worked there for more than 30 years. Greg was a man of many monikers. He was an avid NASCAR fan, a Mr Fix-it to his friends and loved ones, campground companion to his neighbours and friends at Come by Chance Resort.
He was the favourite uncle to many of his nieces and nephews, and of course the one and only #1 Dad and husband. Whenever needed, he was always there to lend a helping hand. Greg was predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Gail Wiebe. He is survived by his wife Doris, his children Amanda and Michael Pugh, his stepbrother Paul Otway and his wife Lori, brothers and sisters in-law Jack (Judy) Wiebe, Nellie (Ted) Wiitala, Walter (Karen) Schincariol, Larry (Debbie) Schincariol, Lori (Jamie) Piccolo, mother in-law Louisa Schincariol, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special mention to his nephews Matthew and Jeffery Wiebe, the sons of his sister Gail who held a special place in his heart.
According to Greg’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 13th, 2017 at The DaVinci Centre between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 1:15 p.m. Private interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toronto Lung Transplant Program at the Toronto General Hospital or to any charity of your choice.
