The Alfieri family announces with great sadness that Guido ‘Guy’ Alfieri passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 1st, 2021 in Thunder Bay, ON.

Guido was born September 30th, 1934 in Thorold Ontario to a hard-working family that immigrated from Italy. His early childhood was spent in the Thorold/Welland/Niagara area and later learned his hard-working ability on the family farm in Dunnville. He spoke fondly of his time with his parents and brothers working on the fields and in the markets. Dunnville is also where he met, fell in love and married his loving wife Marion (Branston) in 1957. Early on he worked at the steel mill and fabric company in Welland. He would soon respond to God's call to ministry in the church and graduated from Bible College 1963. As pastor and wife, Guido and Marion touched many lives in many churches in Bracebridge, Kingsville, Elmira, Toronto, Milton & Marathon. During his long career with the PAOC Guy also rolled up his sleeves and worked many part time jobs to provide for his family. Bus driving, store clerk, and also created his own business called The Masters Handyman. Just like his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Guido had a talent as a carpenter. Guido also enjoyed vacations with his wife and family in Europe, England, Italy, Switzerland, Dominica (mission trip), Israel and various trips in Canada & US. Camping and cottage trips with family were fun. 14 years ago, Guido and Marion chose to move back to Marathon and spend retirement helping raise their grandchildren.

Guido enjoyed hosting and fellowship with many travelling pastors and evangelists that visited our home over the years. Men's fellowship was a major passion in Guido's life, his work extended all across Canada. Life was good, god blessed. Guido is survived by and lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years Marion (Branston), his three sons Mark, Daniel & Jonathan (Eddie) and grandchildren Katelyn Hynes (Jarrod), Emily & Bailey. Guido is predeceased by his daughter Vivian, his brothers John, Domenic (Red) & Frank as well as his parents Giovanni (John) & Nunzia (Nancy Iocca), in-laws Clifford, Violet and Bessie Branston.
