Mrs. Gwendolyn Doreen Zayots (Cox), age 96, resident of Southbridge Lakehead Manor, passed away peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with family by her side.
Gwen is survived by daughter Tracy and son Bill, granddaughter Jessica and grandson Nathan (Meagan), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gwen was predeceased by husband William, daughter Christina Marie Petrie (Zayots), parents Christine and Arthur Cox, brothers Warren and Roy Cox, sisters Irene Davidson and Lenore Yates, as well as nieces and nephews and many close friends.
A special thanks to Dr. Ruby Klassen, Martina and the 3rd floor staff at Southbridge Lakehead Manor, as well as the 2C unit at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Rita, Gillian, Sarah, Cindy, Yassar, Kimmy, Kahlichi, Stephanie, and Mary Anna, your compassion, tenderness, how gentle and kind you all were with mom in her last eleven days, I will never forget and am forever grateful. Thank you all.
Cremation has taken place. As per Gwen’s wishes, no service will be held. Interment will be held at a later date in Winnipeg.
