It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Hanna Rouhiainen, age 92 years, at Pioneer Ridge Nursing Home on April 4, 2017.
Hanna was born in Finland on September 28, 1924 and came to Canada in 1955 to marry George Rouhiainen. They settled in Terrace Bay where they were well known for over 50 years. Hanna was a very proud Finnish Canadian with many Finnish friends. She was well known for her knitting, sewing, volunteer work and her daily walks no matter the weather. Hanna was always very kind and generous to not only her friends but all who crossed her path in life.
Hanna is survived by her loving daughter Aila Kehler (Bryan), granddaughter Christina Meadwell (Doug), great grandson Charlie, her son Roy Rouhiainen (Joyce) (Alberta), grandchildren Lea and Mikeal Rouhiainen. She is also survived by brothers, sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in Finland. Hanna was predeceased by her husband George of 51 years in September 2006.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
