It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dearly beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. On Monday, October 30, 2017 Harry passed into the arms of the Lord at the age of 93 with his family by his side.

Daddy was born on the family farm in Insinger, Saskatchewan on January 6, 1924. After completing school he met the love of his life Lena and was married November 17, 1945. They farmed in Saskatchewan and were blessed with three children.

In 1957 he moved his family to Fort William where he obtained a job with the city sanitation department as truck driver/foreman retiring in 1986. Harry was an active member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church since 1957. He and Lena were in charge of making perogy and cabbage rolls for many years (might I add, they were the best in town). He had a very green thumb and his huge garden flourished with fresh vegetables and flowers to prove it. He enjoyed travel making many lengthy drives to both eastern Ontario and Saskatchewan visiting family; as well as travelling to places like Florida, Jamaica and Vegas to mention a few.

He loved music and dancing and played the harmonica, fiddle and guitar. A good game of cards was also something that he enjoyed. He always put his family and friends above his own needs. He enjoyed looking after people, even people he met for the first time. He was a very loving, kind and generous man.

He is survived by his loving daughter Shirley Marshall, daughter-in-law Eleanor Bunch (Steve), grandson Cole Hluchman, new great-grandson Salem Hluchman and special little furry friend “Buddy”; along with several other family members and life long friends. Predeceased by his loving wife Lena, son Wilfred and daughter Patricia and numerous family members. Dad will be missed and his memory will live on in our hearts forever. We love you Daddy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017at St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Paulo Berezniak officiating. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Panachyda Thursday 7:00 pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the Heart & Stroke or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated.
