Harri “Harry” Tapio Pantsar, age 67, passed away on Monday February 15th, 2021 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Harry was born on October 20th, 1953 in Pori, Finland, and moved to Port Arthur, Ontario with his mother, Salme, in 1966. Harry attended Hammarskjold High School, and worked as a scaler for Great Lakes Paper after graduation in 1972. He then worked as a pipe insulator in Winnipeg, and a few years later, in the Yukon. Finally, he returned to Thunder Bay where bought a house in Lappe. Harry was a proud member of the Millwrights Union Local 1151 for over 30 years before his retirement. Harry loved the job and the comradery with his coworkers. His trademark handlebar mustache, giant fur hat and infectious laugh could be seen and heard from a mile away.

Harry is lovingly remembered by his daughter Liisa Faye Pantsar, granddaughter Mina Faye Mueller, mother Salme Simi, sisters Sirpa Huhta (Howard) and Nancy Hudyma (Paul), nephew Kai Huhta, nieces Keri Bishop, Alexandra Hudyma, and Casey Hudyma, and many more relatives in Finland.

Cremation has taken place, and no service will be held at this time due to the current circumstances. Interment of the ashes will take place at a later date for family at Riverside Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.sargentandson.com
