Helen Margaret Bone gracefully left this world Monday, May 8, 2017 to continue her travels after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. She spent her final days with family and friends at her side in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Helen was born April 19, 1966 in Gateshead, County Durham, England. Helen’s curiosity, vivaciousness, and creativity led her to a life filled with travel, fantastic adventures, and self-exploration.
Her eclectic educational background included degrees in Women’s Studies, Shiatsu Therapy, and Midwifery. Helen worked many years in Toronto’s film industry before recently moving back to Thunder Bay.
She was loved by the many people who were blessed to know her.
She will be deeply missed by her parents Dr. Norman and Williamina Bone, her siblings Kirsten (Mike) Sacino, Katrina Bone, Alistair (Denise) Bone, and Iain (Lisa) Kelso; her nieces and nephews Matthew, Sarah, Samantha, Davis, Elliot, Morwyn, Seija, and Carson; her aunties Nancy and Elsie; her relatives in the United Kingdom; and her many dear friends including Karen (Nathaniel) Schmidt, Carey (Jonathan) Murphy, and Tamara McKee.
The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the care and compassion of Rev. Hugh Walker, the staff of CCAC, the nursing staff and attending physicians of TBRHSC, Dr. Branch, Dr. Simpson, Dr. Migay, and the nursing staff of the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Sargent Family Reception Centre, 21 North Court Street with words of tribute being offered at 3:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
