Helen Irene Kennedy

Helen Irene Kennedy passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Hospice on June 18, 2021. She was born in Port Arthur on November 25, 1926 to Helen and Thomas Thatcher. She met her husband Keith while she was working at the Bank of Montreal, and they married on September 18, 1947. She was a dedicated Mother to her sons Bruce and Robert and daughter Helen. She was an avid knitter and donated many hours to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital knitting for their gift shop and patients. She enjoyed the company of neighbours and friends, having a glass of wine on the deck or tea, biscuits and knitting together.

She is survived by her sons Bruce (Tracy) and Robert (Sheila), and niece Jan (Bob), grandchildren; Lisa (Brian), Phil (Mallory), Rob (Tanoy), Angie (Kevin), Sarah (Curt), Randi and Ryan, and her great grandchildren Brian, Kennedy, Ava, Oliver, Mathieu, Sean, Kloe, Asia, CJ, Tia, Nate, Alex.

She is pre-deceased by her parents; Helen and Thomas Thatcher, her husband; Keith Kennedy, and her daughter; Helen Kennedy.

She cared deeply for her growing family and filled her house with pictures. She enjoyed spending her weekends talking on the phone with her children and grandchildren all around the world, hearing updates on their lives.
